Boro Park Shomrim helps bust con man after he scammed workers at two Borough Park delis

A con man was busted after scamming workers at two Borough Park delis, cops said yesterday.

Mario Desena, 29, allegedly purchased a $4 drink with a $50 bill in Taste and Toast on New Utrecht Avenue and 55th Street at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday.

A clerk handed $46 in change to Desena, who stuffed the money in his pocket, then claimed the clerk had given him only $6, cops said.

Desena then allegedly swiped the $50 bill, which the clerk had left within reach, and fled.

Minutes later, he did it at a store nearby, but was later arrested after a worker called the civilian Shomrim patrol, said a spokesman for DA Charles Hynes.
