Israel - Chometz found in Bnei Brak matzo bakery

Drama in the 'Mishmeres Hamatzos' Matza bakery in Bnei Brak: after baking their Matzos, members of a 'Chabura' noticed wheat kernels on some of the matzos. It's needless to describe the panic that griped the Yeshiva students: the fear of eating Chometz on Pesach.

It all started early in the morning when the yeshiva students who rented the bakery came to bake their Matzos for Pesach. The bakery allows ‘Chaburos’ to rents out their facilities, and receive the Hechsher of Rabbi Landau.

If the particular 'Chabura' wants the Hechsher, they have to follow the strict guidelines set out by the Rabbi.

In the case of mention, they brought their own sacks of flour, and after they finished baking, grains of wheat were found on the baked matzos.

The bakery owner told the Chabura heads that they are obligated to notify Rabbi Landau of the occurrence.

When Rabbi Landau arrived at the scene, he examined the work, and Pasken'd that the ovens needs to be Kashered. And regarding the Matzos baked thus far, he said that they constitute Chometz.

Following the incident, the owner decided to implement stricter practices, that private groups cannot bring their own flour into the Matza Bakery.
