Hitler Poster Removed From Colo. Classroom

Denver - A poster with a caricature of Adolf Hitler has been removed after raising eyebrows at a rural Colorado high school, Denver TV station KMGH reported.

The caricature shows Hitler in Nazi garb in front of a chalkboard warning students, “Ve hof vays of making you learn.”

A student who wished to remain anonymous said a social studies teacher put the poster up on a classroom door at Weld County Central High School last week. The student said he reported the poster to school officials when he first saw it, but it remained up for more than a week.

“I’m a Christian and from Jewish descent, so it kind of offended me she would be posting that kind of poster,” the student said.

Superintendent Susie Townsend said the district is investigating what may have simply been bad judgment on the part of a teacher.

“I don’t think it was malicious or anything to do with racism,” Townsend said, adding the district has a diversity policy emphasizing inclusion and tolerance.
