Brooklyn Woman Sues Hospital Over Amputation
A woman from Brooklyn says she went to see a gynecologist for a routine procedure, but ended up suffering through serious complications that led to the amputation of both her feet.
Stacey Galette is now suing Winthrop University Hospital for what happened two years ago.
She and her lawyer say that doctors pierced her intestine during the procedure, causing a dangerous infection. She says the infection led to gangrene in her legs. Doctors had to amputate.
A spokesperson for Winthrop says it is hospital policy to not comment on pending litigation.
