The City Council has agreed to review the city's restaurant grading system because many restaurant owners complained that it isn't consistent or fair.
Speaker Christine Quinn said it is time to have an independent assessment of the city's letter grading system because it is failing New York City restaurants in many ways.
However, the Department of Health said in a statement that "90% of New Yorkers approve of the letter grading system. The program is not punitive; its goal is to ensure the safest dining experience possible."
