Report: Three Robbers Who Imitated Cops May Have Worn Expensive, Hollywood-Style Masks

Were their disguises more elaborate than previously thought?

The NYPD says on Valentine’s Day, three men who entered the Pay-O-Matic check cashing store on South Conduit Avenue in Rosedale wearing dark blue jackets with a “NYPD” logo on them.

They were also wearing police-type shields around their necks. Two of the men wore blue jeans, one wore tan khaki pants. Two of the suspects wore Yankee caps and all three wore sunglasses.

They then heisted the place.

The Daily News reported today that police now think that the bogus cops may have also had bogus faces. The News reports that they may have been wearing expensive, whole-head, Hollywood-style masks. If so, that means police may not know the ethnicities of the robbers.

One of the faces resembled pro wrestler Bill Goldberg.

The bandits made off with $200,000, the News reported.

After heisting the money, they drove off in a dark, late ’90′s Ford Expedition with a broken rear passenger window. The window was covered with black plastic duct-taped to the vehicle. The SUV may have had Virginia plates, police say.
