Survey Says American Jews Giving More to Israel
In the first survey of its kind, a study by Brandeis University showed that American Jews had by 2007 doubled their donations to Israel over the amount they gave 13 years earlier. The study showed that American Jews gave $2.1 billion to Israel in 2007, compared to $1.08 billion in 1994.
Most of the donations are given to private organizations, not to the UJA-Federation fundraising or bond sales efforts, the study added.
