Israeli Newspaper Maariv Ends Daily Print Edition

Israel’s Maariv newspaper is canceling its daily print edition amid financial difficulties.

One of the major daily newspapers in the Jewish state, Maariv has succumbed to the growing popularity of Internet news as well as competition from Israel Hayom, the country’s most widely read newspaper.

Management has struggled to maintain the print addition of Maariv for years, even cutting back staff, reported Globes. The center-right newspaper will continue as an online publication and will still print a Friday edition.
