National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory For NYC
Temperatures are expected to sizzle in New York City for
the next three days.
A heat advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. Monday until 9
p.m. Tuesday as temperatures are expected to soar into the 90s.
Forecasters are calling for heat index values to be in
the mid to upper 90s on Monday. On Tuesday, high temperatures mixed with high
humidity will make it feel like 100 degrees.
Heat advisories are also in effect for parts of New
Jersey.
There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms on
Wednesday. High humidity will again make it feel like 100.
Relief is expected to come on Thursday. Temperatures are
forecast to be in the 80s. Pleasant weather is to continue through Sunday.
To stay cool, remember to eat fresh fruits and vegetables
to keep your internal temperature down, drink plenty of cool water and limit
any strenuous activity.
