Magen David Adom Seeks 11 Ambulances to Honor Munich Olympics Victims

Amid the outrage over the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) refusal to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Palestinian murder of Israeli team members at the Munich Olympics, American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) is working to raise $1.1 million for 11 life support ambulances in Israel in memory of the victims.

“What better way to commemorate a person’s life, especially someone killed solely because they were Israeli, than to dedicate an ambulance that will save lives in Israel?” Arnold Gerson, CEO of AFMDA, said in a statement.

AFMDA said the 613 Foundation has already committed to a grant for the purchase of the first ambulance. The ambulances cost $100,000 each.
