Romney ad raps Obama for not visiting Israel

Looking to make inroads among Jewish voters, Mitt Romney is out with a new television ad that criticizes President Barack Obama for failing to visit Israel while at the same time playing up his own ties to the country.

"Who shares your values?" a voice-over says as the ad begins. "As president, Barack Obama has never visited Israel and refuses to recognize Jerusalem as its capital."

The 30-second ad features footage of Romney's visit to Israel last week—including his speech in Jerusalem in which he touted the "special relationship" between the U.S. and Israel.

"Mitt Romney will be a different kind of president—a strong leader who stands by our allies," the narrator says, atop footage of Romney talking to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "He knows America holds a deep and cherished relationship with Israel."

The ad concludes with footage of Romney's visit to the Western Wall, as audio of the GOP candidate's Jerusalem speech plays in the background.

"It's a deeply moving experience to be in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel," Romney is heard saying.

The campaign declined to say how much it is spending to air the ad—or where it is playing. But a source close to the campaign told Yahoo News the ad is expected to air in Florida, home to one of the largest Jewish populations in the country and a key battleground state this fall.
