Romney campaign raises $7.4M with Ryan on board
After only 72 hours as the GOP vice presidential
contender, Paul Ryan has helped the Romney campaign bring in some big bucks.
Campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul posted on Twitter that
the Romney-Ryan ticket has raised $7.4 million online with over 101,000
donations.
Mitt Romney formally introduced Ryan as his running mate
Saturday at an event near the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, Va. The campaign sent
out a fundraising pitch within hours of the event.
Romney and his allies at the Republican National
Committee have raised more money than President Obama and his team for three
straight months. The Republicans have $185.9 million in the bank already, much
of which Romney cannot touch until he officially becomes the party's
presidential nominee at the end of the month.
