5 NYC Firehouses Get Landmark Status

Five New York City firehouses have received landmark status.

The city's Landmarks Preservation Commission says the firehouses have "distinctive" architecture. They've been in continuous use for more than a century.

They're in Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn; Bathgate and Longwood, in the Bronx; and Rockaway Park, Queens.

New York City now has 37 landmarked firehouses. All but five are still operating.
