Vienna, Austria - Swastika Row over TV Symbol

Austrian TV bosses are under fire after furious viewers claimed their new logo had been based on a Nazi swastika.

The new logo was launched at the weekend by channel Puls 4 to hundreds of complaints from viewers who said it looked like the Nazi symbol.

They claim it looks just like half a swastika, banned in Austria where Adolf Hitler was born.

"It’s a design question for us. The logo symbolises the number four," said Puls 4 spokeswoman Christina Patzl.

"We have no intention of changing the logo," she added.

But one viewer said: "Whenever it comes on screen all you can think of is that terrible symbol and what it meant."
