New York - Time Warner Cable Offers Free WiFi Hotspots For City Customers

Several city parks and railroad stations are now free WiFi hotspots for Time Warner Cable customers.

New Yorkers who have Internet service through NY1's parent company can get free internet access at eight Long Island Rail Road stations in Queens on the Port Washington line.

In Manhattan, it is available in Madison Square, Bryant Park and the 79th Street Boat Basin.

It is also available at four Queens parks -- Bowne Park and Kissena Park in Flushing and Baisley Pond Park and Railroad Park in Jamaica.

To access the service, customers will need their Road Runner user ID and password.

Minor earthquake rattles Los Angeles

Seismologists say a mild earthquake widely felt throughout Southern California was centered along the coast west of downtown Los Angeles. The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-3.8 quake struck at 3:18 a.m. Wednesday. The epicenter was 2 miles east-southeast of Marina del Rey near Culver City and Inglewood.
