Fighter Jets Scrambled After Small Plane Violates Airspace During Obama Conn. Visit
The Federal Aviation Administration said a small plane
violated Presidential airspace Monday night.
Two F-15 fighter jets were scrambled to escort the homemade
aircraft to MacArthur Airport in Islip.
The FAA said the aircraft entered restricted airspace
over Long Island around 6:30 p.m.
The airspace where the plane was flying was off limits
during President Barack Obama’s campaign trip to Stamford, Conn., earlier in
the day.
