President Obama's Memorial Day observance cut short by lightning storm

President Barack Obama was supposed to mark Memorial Day with a speech at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, but stormy weather forced him to cancel the event.  The President took the stage amidst heavy rain and thunder with a large umbrella in hand and advised the crowd to take cover.

AAA: Memorial Day Travel Up From Last Year

If experts are right, more people will hit the road this Memorial Day weekend than last year.  Blame it on summer fever, or a just a plain old addiction to rest and relaxation. Whatever the reason, travel analysts say the Memorial Day holiday weekend is getting longer – stretching from Thursday to Tuesday.
